33s on a 4" lift
Well it's tire time and was wondering how well does 33s work on the yj. I'm currently running 31s. Mainly how do they fit on the rear with the narrow fenders. Post some pics of rear clearance.

Not the best of pictures, but I have 33's with a 4 " lift. I have no issues whatsover.

Hello Yjwolf, I just installed 33s under my 1988 Jeep YJ today and the ride is great. Sterring isn't as quick with the smaller tires I had on it before today but I'm really happy with the 33s. Before I could mount the 33s, I had to install a 2" lift block kit that I bought from JC Whitney. I should add that I had to buy new urethane bushings (kit) too. Plus I decided to replace the bown out shock absorbers also. The whole deal, parts and labor ran up to $1100! Contact me if you need more details.

Woah......for $1100 you should be running a SOA set-up with shop labor. That's a bunch of cash considering a 4" RC lift is what $450?

I already have a rc 4" installed just curious if 33s rub the fenders when trail riding.
As u can see the 31s run close to the fenders as is.

Im wondering if my nerfs will clear? My 4" lift is almost done and it does not look like the 33s will clear the nerf bars. If they do, it will be close...

I went with 32x11.50 instead. I can tell the difference and like it better than 33s. Now the wife wants 32s on her TJ after trying mine.
I'm running 33x12.5's using a 4" RC, 2" BL as well as extended fender well cutouts, no issues especially when 4wheeling. A lot to be done, but well worth it!

I'm running a 4" RC SL and a 1" Shackle lift, with 33's. I've got my front and rear track bars off and when I'm really flexed the rears will rub a bit, but nothing to be concerned about I don't think.
Yjwolf, I should have typed that I had to pay my local mechanic $150 to install the 2" lift block kit, which cost $150, the urethane bushing kit which cost another $150 and a pair of 2" shackles for the front ($50) (so thats $500 right there). The four new shock absorbers cost $240 plus $40 to have them installed (so thats $780). The tire shop charged me $20 to install the tires ($300) for a total of $1100.
