That is a tough one to read. The numbers you want are the first three(or starting from the bottom of your pic) and the outside row or the one to the right of your pic. I would spray it with degreaser and clean it better.

Shadeemry 01-12-2011 01:46 PM

Ok. Ill go do that right now then and post a cleaner pic for confirmation. When it comes to axel's, im not so savy.

Cleaned it up a bit, this is the best i could do, This appears to be a metal type tag thats bolted in with dif cover, its on the very left side of cover. This is the correct tag, yes?

its in much higher res, if you click on the image it will be much easier to read.

Looks to be a 4.11 to me, you just missed the 4 at the beginning. Is it a 4 cylinder jeep?

when it comes to the gears and axels, i have no clue on any of it, trans and engine now, is a diffrent story.

i took the little metal piece off and cleaned it, and no 4? if its a 4.11, still no loss :) and yes its a 4 cyl.

hannahuffster 01-12-2011 07:57 PM

4 cyl stock is 4.11

Ibuildembig 01-13-2011 10:01 AM

Exactly where I was goin

RednekYJ 01-13-2011 11:48 AM

5.13 gears will not fit into these axles. 4.88 is as low as you can go. You have 4.11

They do make some guard you can place over the cover like this

Four X Doctors CJ44 - Four X Doctor Diff Guard for Dana 44 Axle - Quadratec

Of you could upgrade to a stronger cover all together, this is the one i want to get for mine someday

Rokmen - Riddler Differential Covers

Shadeemry 01-14-2011 12:55 AM

Well thanks for the info! I'm not trusting that dealer ship again, as for the guard, I've seen some pretty expensive mistakes that would been fixed by a rock guard hence why I'm nerviouse about it.
