Read everything owners manual/just use as guide

I have downloaded the 2011 owners manual for my Jeep rubicon, I have been reading it regularly, while I wait for my jeep to get to me from the factory, but it is really long and very redundant, I do want to know everything I can about my new ride, if it ever gets here but wow it's long and boring.
I have found many good points, and info in it, but the thing is I am now wondering if it is better just to use it as a reference when I need to know something, chances are I will not remember all this crap after I read it anyway, and have to reference the manual again anyway. your thoughts?

I have already noticed that many of the questions people have asked here on the forum, the answers are all found in the owners manual. I know because I am about 1/3 through the thing.

shhhh!

a lot of the "jeep guru" guys are just literate folks who use the manual for more than just glove box filler... you're gonna make em useless if you give away the secret on em...

Good for you, NewWrangler. You are one of the few here to do that. You will surely benefit from doing so.

Are ya'll talking about that trail toiet paper found in the glove box? I was wondering why there was printing on it

The parts you should really pay attention to are the parts regarding driving off road and using the part time 4WD system. The rest you can just refer to when necessary.

Personally I review every section of the owner's manual on every new vehicle I get. I don't read everything, but I become familiar with what information is there and then read the parts that I think I will for sure need or want to know. That way when something comes up, I am likely to at least have an idea if the answer may be in there.

You are right though, reading the whole thing cover to cover is really tedious.
