This is one of the coolest camp cooking products I've seen: The Wavebox portable microwave:

I am always willing to add extra camp cooking crap. If the price is right of course.

I checked online by doing a search since I had the same problem and it looks like they go for $200+. However, I can kind of justify it because if you think about what a good stove costs, you'll spend $100+ for the stove plus the cost of refilling propane/butane tanks which adds up. So depending on how much you go backcountry, it probably evens out within the first year.

I searched as well and found mixed reviews. Looks like the quality was hit and miss for awhile. I like the idea for certain things. I think I smell an opportunity for JP mag to pick one up and review it for the community. Hint hint

Having a Microwave when your camping to me is one step away from taking a Lexus camping. Unnecessary luxury.

Plus being a bit of a foodie myself, I find I hardly ever use the microwave to begin with unless I want soggy unevenly heated food.
