Transmission whining

Any one here have or had a whining noise from automatic transmission? I get this from taking off. I hope it is not an expensive fix.

Mine did it when i first bought it and even after a complete rebuild. A little whine from the planetary gears in first gear is normal. Ive learned to live with mine :)

Other than the whine on take of is the trans quiet once it shifts out of first gear?

Yes, once out of first the whining is gone. I was told that a some sort of oil or fluid that you can put into the transmission will get rid of the noise. I am not sure if this viable.

Honestly i would not add any "additive" to my ATF. If anything you can try replacing your ATF and make sure you get what your Trans calls for. All in all though a little whine is still expected from first gear. Good luck man but dont sweat it :)
