Finally after 20 years wanting a Jeep the day came when it all worked out. I only wanted to check out the new 2011 Wranglers when I walked into the dealership and saw the last of his 2010 Rubiconís standing right in front of me. My wife saw the car and said oh sÖ. thatís it. She knew that I would not be able to walk away from this one. 2 door Mango Tango with everything you can get.
After 2 days working on the deal I finally traded my 8 year old 350ML for the Wrangler and I can tell you going from a Mercedes to a Wrangler is a fun upgrade by 200%. Ok Ok the Jeep has a bit less comfort but the fun factor counts for me. I havenít done any Modifications but my wish lists on the various sites are getting longer every day. This brings me right to my first question.
The summer is coming and Iím struggling with what kind of Top I should get. Iím using the Jeep every day and he also needs to stay at the airport for weeks at the time when Iím traveling. So a bikini top is not the best idea. I also donít want to spend 1300 $ for a Top from the dealer and Iím not 2 practical when it comes to the installation.
What would be a good Top which is easy to install and does not cost me an arm and a leg?
OK I got to go check if my baby is fine in the driveway. (Will that ever stop that I have to check my car just to take a look).

Welcome to WF!
Are you leaning more towards and hard or soft top or both?

Welcome To The Forum
I don't know about you but I hate leaving my jeep at the airport for even days with the soft top. My suggestion would be to get the bikini or a frameless soft top and a hoist for the hard top. When you are home run the bikini or soft and when parking for extended periods the hoist will let you easily place the hardtop back on.

I have currently the hard top on it which is OK for letting the Jeep at the airport but the summer is coming and Iím not sure if I want to deal with putting the hard top back on every 2 weeks when I have to travel. So think going with a good soft top for the summer and putting the hard top on for the winter.

I have only the hard top and I also bought my jeep to drive 200 miles to the airport and leave for extended periods of time. I may remove the tee tops from time to time but I will probably never remove the top. Had a 85 bronco with removable top and it was never off the 8 years I owned her. 2 door just like my jeep.

Bestop makes the best aftermarket soft tops, period. I was under the impression that all Rubicons came with dual tops.... Guess I was wrong. Check your build sheet. Perhaps the dealer owes you a top.....
Oh, welcome to the forum, don't forget to wave! :)

If you hate switching tops, I'd get the soft top and leave a different vehicle at the Airport during the Summer when its on if you want my opinion.
