Hard Top Fast Remove Screws Jeep Wrangler JK 2007 to 11 on eBay.ca (item 370478663112 end time 01-Feb-11 22:08:56 EST)
I will start it out with these, I think they might work well.

rics1997 01-26-2011 10:47 PM

Bought a twisted wire mesh in the Concrete section at Lowes for $9.56. I think it was 7" by 32" cut to fit across radiator frame an zipped tied it there. Took about 30 minutes and would have been faster if I had a good set of tin snips.

Old picture but don't have good picture of this mod

Chopped fenders, all you need is a rotary cutting tool, some masking tap, and an exacto knife to clean the melted rubber off. If you wanna make it look real nice like i did you can but black door molding and put it on the edges.

JeeperJake 01-26-2011 10:59 PM

I increased the storage and carry-space in the rear of the 2dr model for zero cost.....

...I read the owner's manual on how to take out the rear seat!!!

DGriz 01-27-2011 01:09 PM

Turn your rear-view mirror upside down. It gives you an extra couple of inches of vision out the front windshield. Cost: $0

JakeRupp 01-27-2011 01:16 PM

Just wait for Jimbo to get in here. He will show you anything and everything.

Pretty grille mod like rics1997. You can see it here among others. About $8.

Custom "Mountain" decal for Mountain Edition. See pic #7 here. $20.

DayStar dash panel. Here. $24. (Won't work if you have a 2011.)

Rustoleum bedline and high-heat black paint on the undercarriage exhaust. See it here. $20.

Grab handles. There's dozens of different kinds. Generally under $60 for a set, even for the Mopar ones.

Short antenna is on the way. Got extensive discussion recently here. Under $20.

x2 on turning the rear view mirror. Aside from better vision out the front, it also improves your view from the rear view mirror itself by giving you a fuller view of the rear window.

ESP 01-27-2011 01:31 PM

Daystar Upper Dash Panel $24.95. Installs under 10 minutes.

MTH 01-27-2011 03:37 PM

Oh, and you can bedline your wheels and/or grille too. See here and here.

I'm looking at that rear view mirror trick.....it must come off some how as it doesn't want to turn without running into top bracket. There is only about 3" from top of windshield to where the mirror is stuck to the glass. I get the impression if I try to force the mirror to pivot something will break. What am I missing?

seadog 01-27-2011 05:20 PM

Pivot it down, spin it around, and push up. World of difference.

Remind me whether you have a 2010 or 2011. The folks I've seen turn it around have a 2010, including myself. In a 2010, it should just pivot right around, no removal or anything. Maybe a little bit of a push, but that's it.

Edit: Looks like you have 2008. Yeah, like Seadog said, face mirror down, spin clockwise or counterclockwise 180 degrees, face back up to a usable position. The key is to face it down first--if you just try to spin it while it's in its normal position it won't work.

Amazon.com: Acousta-Stuf Polyfill 1 lb. Bag: Electronics

buy some and stuff it in the soundbar and dash where the speakers are. Drastically reduces vibration and distortion and makes even the stock speakers sound better. Mr. Sinister taught me this one, great idea

JeeperJake 01-27-2011 06:50 PM

ok...ok....checking the mirror....it's easier in the drive way than when moving down the road....

JeeperJake 01-27-2011 06:53 PM

I'm doing the gutter screen mod right now. I'll post a finished pic tomorrow.

And before somebody asks, the gun looking thing is a tiewrap tensioner. Gives consistent tiewrap pulls. and cuts them as you go.

NEWWRANGLEROLDCJ7 01-29-2011 03:42 AM

seadog can't wait to see the finished pics, I think that its a great idea, I will be doing this mod for my baby when I get it for sure.

My cheap mod is a Velcro cell phone holder. Installed between the air vents. I used the extra strong Velcro. Reg works but once off road it can work loose and drop the phone. No issue with the extra strength type. put the soft piece on the cell ph case to prevent getting scratched up. Works great with jeep clinometer app and iphone too.
