Gas Prices..grrrrrrrrr

Well,it looks like gas prices might just top $4.00 this summer!

Here in NYC (Pelham Manor/Mount Vernon area) I've already seen prices at $3.07 to $3.09 at BP,Mobil,Mobile/Exxon.................................what are the prices out there where you live??

JCS05Rubi 05-01-2007 05:16 AM

3.0X by my house, 2.8X about 10 miles away and 2.6X by the beach about 2 hours away.

Its all about what they think you can afford in your area. Sucks, but our society has no more morals, its all about $ and untill something happends just suck it up and deal with it.

Odd is he 05-01-2007 05:44 AM

$3.29 here in stamford, CT, and right up the road in bedford, NY is $3.79

Odhinn 05-01-2007 06:12 AM

Saw a punp the other day that I stopped to fill the Jeep at. Must have been a 30 gallon tank like my old dodge. The price to fill that vehicle made me rethink my little old jeep and how much it cost to drive it each week.

The pump said 88 dollars for 28 gallons. My dodge 1/2 ton use to burn 27 gallons a week on average.

I LOVE MY JEEP!!!!!

always think positive, it just feels better:D

Oh yeah up to 3.15 a gallon here

4Jeepn 05-01-2007 07:53 AM

$2.85-3.00 for 87 in KY. high test is $3.19 or so.

tjchad 05-01-2007 08:20 AM

3.30 for the cheapest 87 octane here in San Diego area. Most places are 3.35- 3.55 for 87... On my way home yesterday I saw a sign for 87 @ 3.19 and was going to stop 'til I realized that was IF you paid for a car wash.

Still though, the Jeep gets better mileage than my last vehicles and is just fun to drive. I've been thinking about a diesel conversion though so I can run bio or veggie oil.

mrbigjeep 05-01-2007 08:57 AM

2.82 round here

Dare2BSquare 05-01-2007 09:12 AM

$ 2.69 today, who knows about tomorrow?

binaryking 05-01-2007 09:15 AM

$2.89 for 87 here. Even though the prices are high, I would still stuff a V8 in her if I had the cash to complete the conversion. ;)

OdhinnsChick 05-01-2007 09:19 AM

I try to only fill my Acura up when absolutely necessary. It uses premium so I just don't drive it that often. I filled it up last week and it was more than $40 for 15 gallons! It gets great mileage but who can pay $3+ a gal every week?

battleb 05-01-2007 09:23 AM

S.E. Michigan
Regular/gal $2.95-$3.05

whiteyj 05-01-2007 09:48 AM

$3.30 to $3.50 here in the SF Bay Area. Filling the YJ stings but filling the Tahoe just plain HURTS!

richp 05-01-2007 10:20 AM

Well, the high gas prices have had an upside where I live in the poconos, housing market has gone from 3,000 to over 7,500 homes for sale in a year, alot of them repossesed from people who just walked away or went bankrupt. Cut down bigtime on people moving out here from NYC and LI for sure. The bus commute from here to NYC also trippled in the past year or so, almost $400 a month now.
Neighbor works at a bank and she says the amount of people that are going into major dept on gas charges is unreal.... Three years ago it was .99 a gallon up here, last year it broke $2, it's heading for over $3. I used to spend $40 a week commuting to allentown at .99, then it doubled and cost me $80, now if I was still commuting it would be $120. Would be even worse if I was still doing the 180mi a day commute to lucent in NJ. The oil companies need to be reigned in, but too many big money people have too much to gain by the record profits so it will go till it breaks and I don't think thats too far down the road either...

stabs05 05-01-2007 10:50 AM

Last price I saw was yesterday at 2.83 in Exton, PA. When I filled up in the Lehigh Valley over the weekend it was 2.79. I'm actually surprised that gas prices have stabilized. A few months ago I could drive up to Allentown and save almost 10 cents on a gallon of gas, now they are only pennies off.

JCS05Rubi 05-01-2007 10:57 AM

not here. theres a 50 cent/gallon difference from the beach to rich b!tch central MD here.

18derrick 05-01-2007 11:39 AM

$3.35 here in washington state and its going to get alot worse around here. Our governor keeps raising taxes ontop of gas prices. Oh and I get 12 mpg on a good day, ouch.

stainless 05-01-2007 01:39 PM

Filled the Tacoma up yesterday - $2.75/gallon for 87 octane.
Filled the Jeep up today at the same place - $2.80/gallon for 87 octane.

stabs05 05-01-2007 01:41 PM

That's ridiculous, is there really a need to raise prices 5 cents from one day to the next?!?!

tjchad 05-01-2007 01:53 PM

Last time it went up at the 7/11 by the house here it jump from 3.29 to 3.35 in 6 hours.

Couple months ago I pulled up to the station and it was 2.99. By the time i got done pumping it had jumped to 3.05. Guess my timing was good.

BTW- Remember in September and October when the prices were dropping at least as quickly as they are rising now? All the politicians were playing it cool but we all KNEW it was all a political game and then the prices jumped 10 cents plus the day AFTER election day!

Adventurous 05-01-2007 02:02 PM

I'm in denial about the gas prices - I think they're over $3.00 in RI for 87 now. I drove the Jeep to work for the first time because it had gas in it and I didn't want to get gas for the car. Now I have to fill up the car and the Jeep....maybe I'll take the bike tomorrow.

1BLKJP 05-01-2007 03:00 PM

2.95 at Costco here still, but everywhere else is in the 3.05 range.

SportsGal501 05-01-2007 03:06 PM

I filled up my half a tank this morning at now $3.15 a gallon ...

That's the only option. You either buy it and drive, or don't buy it and walk or bike.

As long as we keep using it. It will keep going up.

rebelBullDawg325 05-01-2007 03:19 PM

2.89ish in south GA today. not far below stainless. who knows about tomorrow. what really bothers me is the fact that there is no need for such a high price. its just the oil companies trying to get even richer..... like they can even spend all the money they already have

Buster 05-01-2007 03:31 PM

In the Beaver Falls area (western Pa.) reg/gal is 2.80 to 2.90

crj101 05-01-2007 03:58 PM

I guess the electric jeep with solar panel fender flares will be coming out soon.

battleb 05-01-2007 05:24 PM

Just a thought...
Roads in parts of Michigan are what I precieve a road in a 3rd world country mite be like. Would be great for "Jeepin" except the roads contain some hellacious potholes. But that doesnt stop the government in michigan from the leveying heavy taxes on the gallon of gas.....and if thats not enuff they want to raise it even higher. The state bird of michigan is now the orange & white barrel.

go figure........

nicolas-eric 05-01-2007 05:53 PM

btw.
here in germany 1 liter 91 octane gas costs 1.35 euros now. that´s about 6.95 $ for a gallon.

4.0l sahara 05-01-2007 07:02 PM
