After I get my transmission replaced in the near future im delving into the project of outboarding my shocks and also replacing and extending the shock towers, using 15" downtravel shocks in the rear and the front. I'm going to have around the same amount of flex as a 4-5" lift, in under 2.5" of coil ;) I just want to go ahead and post this as of today while I sit bored at work, and I'll be updating this soon.

thanks! I'll actually only be a bit up the road from you...my old man lives just north of Marion. He's the one with all the tools, garage space...and 30+ years of mechanic experience. My cousin might be coming down to lend a hand, he wheels but he drives a hellified K5 blazer. I almost went that route, but I'd always wanted a jeep.
as far as the POR15 goes, if I don't do it this year I might as well be planning on an entire new frame the next one. I think the PO did a lot of mudding; the frame is in pretty poor shape, at least from the rear wells back. It's only an 02 and already has cancer eating the frame holes and had a lot of rust/mud/debris (flakes about the size of instant mashed potatoes) in the bottom of the frame rails. I flushed them out as best I could with a pressure washer, but I'm still leery. a frame from Davey's jeeps may be in my future :doh:
