Planning on some mods this april...thought?
I just bought my newest jeep a week ago. I have plans to upgrade/mod it for light trail use. However, it is my daily driver as well. So I am looking for advice in general. Feel free to join in with advice/opinions anything really. I have a Sahara with 18 inch rims and 32"s now. Also have gears at 4.10 now. NOTE: it is an automatic trans.

Mods I know I want; Rugged Ridge Modular HXD front bumper with KC 130W lights and a center hoop and end sections, Rugged Ridge matching rear bumper with d rings, 4" oval tube steps, 17x8 w/4.75 backspacing Mamba offroad type M3 rims.

Mods I am debating on and need advice for; I would like to use the daystar 3" lift with black scorpion shocks. Hoping to fit dick cepek mud country 35's. Here is the big question.... if I do the lift with 35's will the 4.10 gears hold up fine? Also, would a better option be to do the 3" lift but go with the 33's?

For an auto 4.10 gears and 35's will be rough. If you want to save the cost of re-gearing I'd suggest 33's unless you do very little highway driving then maybe just a flashpaq to change the shift points will suffice.

Did it come with 4:10's??? The autos come stock with 3:73's...

'07's had 4.10 gears. 35's for "light trail use?". Skip the 35's and put some armor on it.

On that note I would just stick with a Rubicon express BB and 33's....

33s and the 3 inch. 3 inches is quite a lift for a jk. from what Ive heard. if you want to keep driveline stuff stock stay with 33s. youll still love it :)

Also skip the tube steps if you really want to go off road and get rock sliders.

there are lots of sliders with steps built in or whatever if thats your concern.

Thanks a lot for all of the pointers everyone. I'll continue to look into my options with these things in mind. So it seems like since this needs to have a good level of everyday drivability the 33's are my best option. My question now would be as to my best lift option. I don't want it to appear too tall for the tires, but I don't want such a little change that it looks stock. I see a lot with 2.5" but I was thinking a 3" since I thought the added weight of the XHD bumbers would bring it down a little anyway. Am I correct in thinking this, does anyone have a similar set up that looks good and if so can we get some pics???
