hello here from Frederick md.

Im new to the wrangler forum but not to wheeling. Me and my wife have a 98 tj with a 6" long arm lift and 35bfg and we wheel rausch creek 4 or 5 times a year and we are looking forward to wheeling big dogs in the spring. We are also looking to find more people from Maryland to wheel with and also trying out green ridge park.

Welcome! I'm literally 20 min from Green Ridge, looking forward to a spring outing.

just4fun 02-06-2011 06:40 PM

I live in Frederick country so green ridge is pretty close for me. Im hoping for warm weather to get back on the trails. The older I get the more I hate the cold weather.

Ditto.. Come on warm weather. The cold never bothered me back then.

Down here in Gaithersburg and just got back into a Jeep this month. Is Green Ridge a decent place for my Rubicon where I wont scratch the hell out of my nice new paint? I need some entry level off roading to start.

Hubdeep 02-11-2011 05:31 AM

Yes. Depending how muddy it is, you may not even need 4wd.

just4fun 02-11-2011 05:51 AM

The more mud the better. Its better then taken a rock to the oil pan again. Opps

YJjeep 02-11-2011 05:54 AM

Yeah we all know Hubdeep loves the mud.

just4fun 02-11-2011 06:32 AM

I love the mud also. I sold my mud bog truck so my wife and I could buy a jeep and crawl around in the woods

I too live in Frederick. Will be looking forward to go to Green Ridge as it will be my first time going off roading. New to that but have had a jeep for a while. I have to do a few things to the YJ before I can go.

just4fun 02-11-2011 07:01 AM

Im hoping to get out in the next few weeks come along if you like

RedJK 02-11-2011 07:31 AM

Welcome! I need to check out Green Ridge some time.

just4fun 02-11-2011 07:34 AM

As close as it is to me I don't know way I haven't gone yet. All the guys I wheel with live in pa and wheel rausch creek

patricks 02-11-2011 07:37 AM

Sounds good. Do you have to have any certain mods to ride up there? I may just have to take my XK up there and see how she works

jgano23 02-11-2011 07:38 AM

welcome to the forum. :wavey:

just4fun 02-11-2011 07:50 AM

Im not sure how the trails are. Me im on 35s with a 6" and stock trash lock rear.

patricks 02-11-2011 07:55 AM

I have a 4 inch lift with 31's on the YJ. I will prob just take that. I just need new tires and Ill be good to go.

just4fun 02-11-2011 08:17 AM

Well let's see how the whether is in the next few weeks and try to get some people who have wheeled there and go. Im john btw and live in new market

patricks 02-11-2011 08:52 AM

I am Patrick, and I live right up the street in Spring Ridge.

just4fun 02-11-2011 08:58 AM

What color is your jeep?

patricks 02-11-2011 09:40 AM

Black, I have a redskins tire cover for the back tire.

just4fun 02-11-2011 09:53 AM

Hail to the redskins. Right on. You can't miss mine its freaking teal or sea foam or whatever its called and it says just 4 fun across the windshield. What size tire you looking for

patricks 02-11-2011 12:21 PM

just another set of 31's I think. Not sure if the engine can handle anymore than that. The tires I have right now are worn and can't do any snow driving. Not to mention my 4 wheel drive makes a loud clicking noise

just4fun 02-11-2011 12:50 PM

That's not good.time to check the u joints and make sure they r ok

patricks 02-11-2011 03:13 PM

We will see what happens. I am not very mechanically inclined

GoldenSahara00 02-11-2011 03:15 PM

I go through fredrick quite a few times a year, going to morgantown WV from up here in PA. Fredrick is probably about 45 minutes from me. I swear I saw your jeep last time I drove through... or one like it haha.
