New to Wranglers and looking for info!?!

Hey everyone...
I don't own a wrangler yet... but i am looking..
I have owned a few suzuki samurais in the past but now I
want the next step up... In any case I've got some questions????
Ok first off:

Newer v6 engine or the AMC I6?? which is better, last longer, less hassle??

I test drove the 2010 and 2011 models and liked them alot but wondering what the major difference would be? I liked the steering wheel buttons and the redesign and the subwoofer and the new 3 piece hard top... wondering if I can get any of these options on an older wrangler??

My biggest concern is if I buy new I will be less inclined to go offroad thne if I buy used... what do you think?? Also, what's with all high re-sell value?? Lots of questions but I am looking to buy within a year or so...

Thanks for any of the responses...

Try posting in the General Jeep discussion, most tech guys don't look in this section of the forum :)

I know what you mean on buying used. I went over the option for a long time, and come to the same conclusion. Would be to nice to get messed up if it was brand new!

I bought mine new and went trailing the next day. Just be smart and go slow. Go new :). Sahara or rubicon are the way to go!!! And seriously..... Wave

I've owned a 2002, a 2008 and currently a 2010. The difference between the 2002 and the 2008/2010 is substantial. The newer jeeps think they're a luxury car (they even give Land Rover and Mercedes owners a reason to envy them). Both of the newer Jeeps were off-road at a Jeep Jamboree put on by the dealership about 2 to 3 months after I bought them. I even trusted my son (40 year old Jeep owner) to drive them on the trails, and we had a blast. Just take it slow and plan where you're going and you shouldn't have any trouble or damage.
