Daystar Coil Spacers?
 
One of my coustomers recently backed out of purchasing a set of 1 3/4 inch spacers that I ordered in for him. I have read about spacers and seen some mixed reviews. Has anyone here used the Daystar spacers? I have been thinking about just putting them on my JK for now just to see how they act. I also have a set of Rancho 9000 adjustable 2-4 inch lift shocks that I've had laying around and figure this would be the perfect time to put them on too. Not sure about the Daystar quality is what I'm concerened with here so I may be the guinea pig on this one.

Hey, the dealership had them installed on my jeep when I bought it, unfortunately i can't be much help as I have not drove a jeep without the spacers. I dont have any complaints though...sorry I cant be more help.

How many miles do you have on that JK and what are your normal driving conditions. Sorry to be nosey but Just wondering if this is worth it. I plan on going slightly larger and more aggressive with tires in the near future and dont really feel that I want a big lift so I figure this is a perfect oppournity at a really cheap price to get some clearance for mininal $$$. 90% of my driving in this JK is backroad highway 50-60 mph, and the 10% is forest roads and light to moderate off road conditions. I hit the forest roads often, and some more aggressive tires Im finding to be a must, but not so much a lift at this point. This is why when people on this forum say to wheel your Jeep first and mod later they are not kidding. Unless you have money to waste or just want to look cool I'm sure most people that mod there JK dont really need to. In my case armor and some tires will be more than enough for what I need out of my JK. I'm sure I have more armor than most people that have 3+ inch lifts do. I'm covered front to back and spared nothing. A few inches will not give me the confidence that steel plate will when getting in some rocky or wooded areas.

No problem, I have just over 6000 miles and like you run on the highway most of the time. I like to run trails, but dont get the opportunity to do so very often. I also have 33" MT AZTs, which I love, they handled the nasty winter weather great. Anyway, I am planning on a better lift in the future, but cant complain about these spacers. It does make the Jeep look a ton better too. I was surprised how much 1.75" made a difference. Here is a pic of Blue to give you an idea of what the combo looks like. If I can find it I will add a pic of my Jeep sitting next to my parent stock 2011.

That looks good and it also looks like you got pretty good clearance on those 33's. My tires really measure just over 31 inches and I got 35" to the bottom of my front fender and 36" in the rear. Looks like those spacers give you a bit of room. I think I'm gonna throw them on there and put those shocks on now also. Thanks

armor is a very smart idea if you frequent forest roads and trails. there was a thread a while ago about a pine tree that punched it's way into a jeep's cabin through the floor. i would do this BEFORE spending cash on anything else. you may never need it, but if you ever do, you'll be glad it's there.

It is always funny to me to see some of these people around here bashing thruogh the woods and stuff and think because they have 3 extra inches of clearance over there stock truck they are invinsible. Anyone with a JK should at the least have a EVAP skid plate. If you get under there and look you will see it is very open and pretty important. I have armored diff covers (full replacements) , the skid plate to cover some of the front end parts, oil pan skid, gas tank skid, all four control arm lower skids, EVAP, gas tank and not sure what I'm gonna do about the muffler yet. XHD bumpers will take a shot better than the stock plastic stuff and provide recovery points and of course RR body hugging rock sliders. I also got the fake diamond plate rear corners and the hood protector. Those corners are a joke and just for looks.

Yep, Yep love my Blue Jeep... Even the 1.75" lift with the 33" make it look a ton better. I have since taken off the Mopar step and put on LOD sliders. I also have added the RR XHD bumper and ends, next on my list is river raider diff covers and evap skid. Then I am thinking the LOD rear bumper and tire carrier. The list just keeps going on and on.

Yes your new sliders look much better then those chrome things :whistling:
I got RR diff covers front and rear. There pretty heavy compared to the stock ones and there evap skid is pretty good too. I really wasnt thrilled with the way the evap skid went together but it was much cheaper than some others and I get the stuff through my store so It saves a couple bucks and the shipping is really cheap.
