Windshield light switch

I'm trying to install my new windshield lights and can't figure out how to remove the lower left dash to mount the switch. Where did u guys mount it/ where is the easiest place to mount it?

Try this thread. Access from side panel. :thumb:
Oops....seen you had a 2011...they might not have one!

That's exactly what I wanna do, how do I access the side panel?

J.B. 02-10-2011 12:25 PM

It just pops off...if it is like a 10...i edited last post. Don't know if the new dash has a side panel.

Is this what the 10 looks like?

Similar...that side should just pop right out...might have to pry the front edge up abit. Like i said...not familar with the 11's. Might have to wait for an 11 owner to chime in! :)

Popped right out, thanx for saving me some trouble

:thumb: Glad to help! People do push a coathanger through that foam filled hole to push a wire on through the fire wall if you haven't ran a hot wire yet. :)

Just an FYI, its actually a lot easier to access this panel if you remove your door

RBarker63 02-10-2011 05:53 PM

I was able to finish it and it came out great. Thanx for the door idea it helped out. I'll have pics tomorrow

All and all I'm pretty happy. The lights mounting system isn't great, they aim a lil high. But for $29.99 u can't beat them.

just an observation
in the 2011 rubicon is that not exactly where the off road controls are for like, sway bar disconnect and lockers. if that is true where would be a good place to mount light switch, in a 2011 rubicon?
