jeep newbie getting ready to buy

ok, well i'm getting ready to purchase a jeep, looking for a rubicon relatively new.

have a question about lift kits, how high can i go and how big of tires before i have to start looking at performance upgrades just to handle the lift/tires well.

this jeep will be a daily driver mainly but will also see a fair amount of off road but no hardcore stuff like rock crawling or anything, atleast not right away.

also any reccomended lift kits/pricing for my expected activity would be nice, don't want to overdo or underdo the lift kit.

Id go teraflex lift, 3inch. I'm not sure on regearing, but I think most lifts you have to regear. If you get a JK 2007+ you can go as big as 33's on the tires and need no lift. If you're not doing anything big, just little trails/mud holes. Just stick to stock lift/suspension and put 33's on it. Your gas mileage is going to kill you with a lift and tires on it. esp' if its a daily driver on the street. Just my two cents :)

Welcome To The Forum

A Rubi is a good place to start. Check out the "Lift" sticky in the JK or TJ section of the forum. It will give you a better idea or what kit will be right for you and each lift is reviewed by an actual user. If you have any other questions, depending on what you get, post them in the JK (07-current) or TJ (97-06) sections.
