Transfer case NP231 question

A mate of mine is getting an atlas (lucky bugger) and has given me first refusal on his existing case with Supershort HD sye and double cardin drive shafts .What I need to know is what has to be changed over to get his box from an 04 manual into my 97 auto?

I don't know know but Advanced adapters will have it.

It should just bolt in as they are both 231 T-case units. However look to see if all the same wire's for speedo t-case handle shifter etc appear to be the same. Depending on which rear end you have you may need a different driveshaft.

All the Aussie TJ's got D44's so I'm ok there but will have to measure the shaft length.

Everything will be a perfect swap for you. The input shaft spline count is the same for those and the 231's haven't changed a bit in quite a number of years. I'd say if the price is right then go for it.
