0 oil pressure at idle

today my jeeps oil pressure decided to keep dropping to 0 when i come to stop, my check gauges light comes on also, any ideas of what it could be?

Sounds like a sensor issue to me.

yeah its prolly something stupid like that

Most likely your oil pressure sending unit... common problem. Cheap and easy to replace.

Well that's what I thought too, but I've replaced mine twice and it still does the exact same thing.. I'm thinking cam bearings!! I wish I'd never bought a Chrysler product!

Apshouse could be right. Has the pressure been running low before today? If you change out the sender and still have a problem then get a mechanical gauge and check it after it warms up. Could be bearings especially the crankshaft bearings. Engine Oil Pressure Tester

I had this happen, it was the sensor, they're cheap you just have to be a bit acrobatic to get it replaced, out is easy, break off the top and use a ratchet, in is a bit tight you[ll need a flat wrench.
