Got Gibson dual exhaust installed...
Well after reading all the forums pros and cons on the gibson dual exhaust I pulled the trigger and got a new one with a coupon for 50 dollars off.Took off the huge stock can and lets just say it was a pain in the butt to remove. Used lots of wd40 to get the hangers out of the rubber gromets holding the stock exhaust and with bleeding knuckles and lots of choice words. Tip if you do not want to keep your stock exhaust use a dremmel or cutting tool.The new gibson went on very easily and after disconnecting the negative battery cable and then connecting it I fired her up in the garage with door open of course and she had a real nice rumble. Stepped on the gas and it was LOUD. I am like what the heck, did not realize that it would be that louder than stock.I have a hardtop 4 door AUTO so I went for a drive with the windows down on take off sounded really good but when I reached 60 it sounded like I had a hole in my exhaust. Pull over and check all connections for leaks and all was good. Next I took off the 2 freedom panels and with the windows up at 60 did not sound so bad, roll windows down again with tops off and hole in exhaust sound again.I began to question my decision but after driving it for an hour on all types of roads and speeds it seems to settle in on the nice sound. I am learning to like it.As an increase in power from stock...absolutely NONE. I almost ordered a CAI to but that would have made the sound worse. I recommend you get one or the other if you just like a sound change or looks and if I had to do it again I would have orderd the Gibson single exhaust but I like the look of the dual.
