Hey Jeepers. The other day after doing some wheeling, I noticed this weird noise coming from the rear of the Jeep. It only happens when I make a left turn kinda hard. Like a tight turn going 15 maybe. It seems like when the weight shifts to the left rear tire, it makes like a clunking noise. It sometimes does it more than once. I am not sure if it did it before but I just noticed it the other day when I had the hard top off. You can hear it with the hard top on and I can feel it when my feet are on the floorboards. I just did an 8.8 swap about 3 weeks ago also so I was messing around back there. Any insight would be great guys and gals!

Can you narrow down WHERE the noise is coming from? Sometimes it may sound like its from the rear when it's from the front...but if you can feel it on the floorboards that could be a shock gone bad or loose mount, loose spring, broken torsion bar strut (did that on my rubicon-took months to find it!) also, if there is the weight of a passenger, does it do it? Can you get a friend and go out in a parking lot, make lots of left hand turns with them in the jeep and out of the jeep to see what they hear and where it might come from? So many moving parts...so little information. But something you definitely need to track down!

Yes, It does it with a passenger. I am gonna say its probably not the shocks b/c they were good before the swap so if it was it would be pure coincidence. I really do feel like its coming from the left rear quadrant. I was thinking it was the spring but just kinda wanted some reinforcement on it. I know I need to raise my rear torsion bar. The kit I have makes it adjustable height. I'll do that when I get home and see if that solves the problem. What can I do about a loose spring?
