New to jeeping and picking up our new Jeep next weekend. Once Spring arrives, want to find trails and mud holes.

Where are you located? I am in Portland.

G-Pur 03-06-2011 03:30 PM

There's a guy in Lewiston who owns about 250 acres dedicated to offroading. All he asks is (I think) a $10 donation. It's a lot of fun out there.

Maine Jeeper 03-07-2011 09:08 AM

I'm in Central Maine. Close to Dover-Foxcroft. About 3 hours from Portland!

Maine Jeeper 03-07-2011 09:09 AM

Yeah, I read about that. All Wheels fun park (something like that)
I am going to check it out this summer. I see they are open year round.
Thanks for the tip, though!

Well, I'm South Portland, so add 15 minutes to the 3 hours to Portland! Where is the guy in Lewiston located? Is it open year round?

G-Pur 03-10-2011 04:09 PM

Here's his "webpage": Don Arel (HOME IS WHERE THE MUD IS) on Myspace

He is open year round. located at 50 Old Farm Road.

Markr 03-10-2011 07:49 PM

I am in for going there sometime. A friend of mine said the have a nice variety of trails.

G-Pur 03-11-2011 07:07 AM

They do, man. That place is a blast.

Maine Jeeper 03-11-2011 02:02 PM

I am def gonna check it out this Spring... if Spring gets here! Still need to "tweak" the Jeep before it can go off road.

Best time to ho is with a group of other Jeep /4x4 folks!

There is a maine4x4.org group that I belong to

Allwheels is great, first two times I went there my 2012 wrangler 2 door was bone stock then I added a fairly complete skid plate system then trips 3 and 4 I had. 33" tire

I've since added a 2.5" lift

Your Jeep should do fine stock , just tell folks your stock and they will guide you around any nasty stuff, you'd be amazed what your stock wrangler can do
