- - Ac Problem

I have a 04 jeep wrangler inline 6 i was wondering why my compressor on my ac clicks on and of all the time while driving. The refrigerant is ok because it cools good but it clicks on and off too much. I have taken it to the dealer several times but they can't fix dog crap.

Compressor should cycle on and off while driving. As long as you got cool air and hot air when you should, its pretty normal :) Also, remember that your AC does run when in defrosting modes too, just a FYI for winter :)
And I deffinatly know what your talking about with the dealer. Lets just say I have a theory that they refuse to do warranty work untill a major part breaks and they can make some money....

low on 134a refrigerant
I think you are low on 134a refrigerant. When system is low, the compressor cycles on and off very quickly. Add a can of refrigerant yourself. Cost of hose and can about $20 at a parts store. Add at the blue cap, not the red cap on the system. Bet it will fix your problem. It did on my daughter's jeep.

Daughter trashed jeep update
Daughter trashed jeep update. This is an update to posting a couple of days ago under the similar heading. Insurance company "totaled" the vehicle. I will be talking with them about a settlement tomorrow. I think insurance companies send their totals to auctions. That is how wrecking yard companies fill up their yards. Jeep is located in Indianapois, IN. Before wreck, this '97 SE was in excellent near stock condition, motor & trany are fine, 93K on odo, needs front dif, transfer case, prolly steering gear box, steering arms, road tire and road wheel. Frame is not damaged. Only body damage is a slight bend to front fender, when broken tie rod allowed road wheel to push fender out. I will put you in touch with my insurance company if interested, and then stay out of the picture. I am not interested in making any money out of this, only helping someone score a very rebuildable '97TJ. I would hate to see this nice Jeep get crushed. Drop me a note at: Fish6525@Yahoo.com if interested. My name is Larry.

Its not low with refrigerant it works fine in cool and it does the clicking in defrost too. I think it might be in the thermostat.
