Frameless Soft Top questions

hey fellas, i was thinking about getting a frameless top for my tj and i had a few questions that i would love to have answered. So, please, if you could help me out with some info here, please do....

1) after initial install, does the top go on and come off easy?
2) can the top be stored in/ on the jeep when you are not using it?
3) why would i want this instead of my regular soft top?

thanks fellas!!!!

1. Yes. You still need to tuck in the edges with the plastic tabs, etc., but they're pretty easy to take off.

2. It won't easily fold down to the back, but you can take the entire top off, fold it all up, and stow it anywhere: back of the Jeep, garage, whatever. It will take some room up in your Jeep. This is the main disadvantage to this style of top.

3. Style, cost, simplicity.
A Regular soft top is more convenient, with the bows that lower everything down, and "control" the top when lowered and lifted. But that brings bows and pivots and hardware. And that brings some extra costs and complications.

I think it's mostly about style though.

Here's our brand, on a JK. There are competing brands out there:

Where is a cheap place to pick up a hardtop?

Your local classifieds would be best for a used one. I think they are close to 2k brand new:speechless-smiley:

My two cents worth: Rampage. The windows store in the top itself and it takes less than ten minutes to take them off and store them. I love the look, too. I've got a hard top and didn't bother to put it on this winter, the Rampage is more fun.
