Stereosour, what makes the triumph the most fun? I'm interested in motorcycles but have never pulled the trigger. I like my father in law's victory but also like sportbikes. Would be interesting to hear your opinion.

91wranglerbase 03-08-2011 09:23 PM

MCAD, specs please? awesome mustang. Color scheme is perfect. The grille is a very nice touch, very subtle custom look, touch of old school.

I've had a 79 Honda CM400T, 98 Suzuki Katana, 03 Kawasaki ZX7-R, and an 03 Suzuki SV1000s before this.

My Honda was the ugliest, the Katana was the most well-behaved/forgiving, the ZX7-R was the largest and heaviest, physically: rode like a freight-train on rails and was the fastest overall (2nd favorite) and the SV was a low end torque monster (1L V-Twin) with a mean grunty exhaust note.

The Triple is comfortable because it has a more upright seating position, it is a little narrower in the saddle than larger sport bikes and has tubular handlebars instead of clip-ons to save you from wrist fatigue.
It has great handling high speed in the twisties, low speed in the city, and has the right amount of grunt to be exciting without scaring the crap out of you, although the throttle can be a bit too snappy (on off on off).
The front suspension can be a little soft from the factory, but it is fully adjustable and I had it sorted for my weight and riding style within a few days of fiddling with it.
The 3 cyl has a distinctive sound that I love (sounds like it has a supercharger)
The frame and engine are based on the Daytona, but the Triple, being a naked bike, is easier to work on cause there are no fairings to remove.
The funniest thing about it is that most people I've come across have no idea what it is and when I tell them "It's a Triumph" they then ask, "Who makes it?"

So in short it is my favorite/most fun because it has a good balance of power, torque, comfort, handling, ease of maintenance and because you don't see too many.

I see some other two-wheeled toys but none yet that are human powered...here's mine. I used to compete in auto-x and after letting it sit for a couple of years when I got married and bought a house, I sold my old car to fund the purchase of this bike.

@ stangmata: I have a 2010 Ram crew cab. White sport edition 4x4. Noticed you have a mustang. I like fords too. I had a 2007 ram, traded in on a 2009 F150 Lariat supercrew 4x4. After one summer hauling my chris craft (pictured above), I traded in the ford for another dodge. The 390 horse hemi with 3.92 rear end is a lot of fun even in a big heavy crew cab. Lets just say I get probably 100 smiles per gallon. I am wanting QTP remote activated cutouts for my ram just to mess with the occaisonal unsuspecting motorist. And my neighbors.

Obviously not in the garage.

Was in the garage, but sadly went to the 'Great Car Park in the Sky' many years ago.
