8.8 Rear axle diffcover
 
Since I am putting a 8.8 in my ole mans SOA project I figured he needed a better solution for a diff cover than the stock tin foil one.

Traced the shape on some 1/4" thick plate

Cut the rings out

3/8" cold rolled rod around the seam

Here's what I got done tonight even though the tavern was open haha

the BR on the right side is an inside joke, dad's name is Reg and a long time ago my buddies started calling him BR for Big Reg....he has no idea I did this and I think its gonna be hillarious when he see it

Very cool. Did you heat the 3/8 rod to bend with torch. Did the original cover warp at all with all that welding on top of it? Nice monogram job!

Yeah you could do it with hot rolled tubing and bend it easier but since this needs to take a beating I used cold rolled and it takes alot of torch to get it to do what you want. I did another one last night that I like better, I will get some pics today
