A/C & Front Bumper w/ Fog lights / TJ Jeep Safety
Got the last problem solved. She runs correctly again :)
1. The a/c does not blow cold. Dont tell me I dont need no damn air conditioner to just take the top off. You obviously don't live in Texas. I went without an a/c all last summer, with out a top on and let me tell you, THAT CRAP IS MISERABLE. Second off, our Texas heat is right around the corner this year and Im pregnant Im due end of August, so I will be most pregnant during the most miserable months in TX. I ain't going without no dang A/C this year. So now back to the A/C not working. It blows, just not cold. Heater works fine. We tried puttin that R-134 stuff in last year, it blew cold for the day. Maybe we didnt know how to put it in, maybe we didnt put in enough.... I think we used a whole can but no more than that. So any suggestions there?
2. I was in a bit of a fender bender in October . (It was his fault I swear). So I need a new front bumper, with the plastic piece that goes on the end (just driver side) and new fog lights. Let me give you the stipulations to this one as well. I DO NOT WANT TO SAVE MY MONEY AND GET A REALLY COOL TRICKED OUT BUMPER. Being prego I have more imporant worries than a $500 bumper. I just want my car back to how it was. I would like to have the factory stuff back. And if you are trying to get rid of yours that would be great. :)
3. I want your opinons on how safe a 2001 Jeep Wrangler is. I love my car and don't want a new one, baby's daddy however is making a fuss saying that my back seat isn't wide enough and the car isnt safe enough. Dont be stupid about this question either. Im not talking about a baby doll. Im talking about my child. So are there other Jeep momma and daddies out there who lugged their infants around in their Jeeps without any issues?
So if your going to tell me to not worry about my a/c, dont waste my money on a factory bumper, or have a stupid response to my safety question please don't waste my time or yours. :)
As far as the A/C you most likely have a leak somewhere in the system. You are going to have to take it to a shop to have dye injected in the system and the system charged properly. Sure you can keep wasting money on off the shelf R-134a but A/C systems are very sensitive nowadays. Too much or too little and it won't work. It has to be charged to a very specific pressure.
As far as bumpers, your cheapest bet is searching the local salvage yards. There are plenty of Jeep owners on here willing to give there milk jugs away. I'm sure someone would be willing for the cost of shipping.
As far as safety, I haven't had a child yet. I can't tell you what the backseat is like. Do a search on YouTube for Jeep Wrangler crash testing and decide for yourself. The video you see may open your eyes. I am not entirely sure I would trust my Jeep over another vehicle for child safety.
Hopefully some of this helps!
I was thinking I would have to take it in to get looked, I just don't want to have to spend the money
We've called junkyards in our area, I guess Jeeps are too popular here, we were told that we wouldn't find anything for a wrangler at a junkyard around here.
Thank you for your opinion, the video without a top is a bit gruesome for the driver. and the side wreck for the passengers was pretty bad too. I have a hard top on my jeep, and I wont be switching to a soft top or taking it off if there is a baby in there.
