oil pressure variation after full synthetic switch
I have a 2000 TJ with a 5 speed and a manual transmission and I have a question about my oil pressure.
I recently bought my TJ and it had been previously serviced with a synthetic blend. I have always been a conventional oil kind of guy but I recently decided to make the switch to full synthetic oil. I understand the issue of older engines having seal issues with the full synthetic transition. I am not losing or burning any oil but I am noticing a gradual increase in the fluctuation range of my oil pressure during driving in town. With the synthetic blend it was varying from about 35psi to 55psi and it is now varying from 20psi to 60 psi depending on where I am at with my RPM.
My question is: Do you think this increase in fluctuation is just my oil pressure sending unit gradually going bad and the fact that it showed right after I made the full synthetic switch is just a coincidence? or should I stick with my old ways and go back to conventional oil?
