nice lil tool....so looks like 285/75/16's are 32.8.....does that mean they are considered 33's or are the 295/75/16's which are 33.4 considered the 33's?

InfernoGirl 03-13-2011 11:11 AM

285's are 33's as are 295's, neither in real life will probably measure the advertised size.

Just went through the same thing. I went down to 15" tires and wheels on my 08 rubicon. with 33x15 duratrac's. I like the way it turned out and I purchased them from Direct Discount tire, all 5 for about 1450 delivered to my door.

I have the same wheels and I think I went with a 295 75 but maybe it was a 285, I cant recall exactly.

size matters

so would they be bigger or smaller than "advertised" ???

Smaller. There are a very few that run true to size, but very few.

A typical female response. :whistling:

I find this website very helpful when comparing tire sizes. Car / SUV / Van / Light Truck Tire Calculations

For actual tire sizes, check out the manufacturer's sizes and specs (posted on their websites; i.e. nittotire.com, falkentire.com etc.). Tires are like shoes, some run larger, some run smaller. Here's the tire calculator I use to estimate metric sizes: Tire Size Calculator - Discount Tire Direct
