I am sure this Uconnect question is not new...
I have done some searching and can't find the answer to this so I will ask again. If it has been answered before if someone could direct me I would appreciate it....
I purchased a 2011 Jeep Wrangler last month. It has the GPS radio and had the bluetooth buttons on the radio but of course they don't work. I asked the dealer what it would take to get it to work, they said $500. I don't think that the price is fair but I want it done right so I made an appointment. They said it would take 3 hrs. After 4 hrs they called me and said they part they had was bad and they have to get another from a different dealer. After 8 hrs they said they could not get it to work and would have to call Chrysler and I would need to bring the Jeep back.
When I got picked up the Jeep they had installed a new Bluetooth component and velcro'd it to the dash along with the microphone up by the visor.... and nothing works yet. After looking around on the Web I see that they should have been able to make the bluetooth radio buttons work and I told them that is what I wanted. I have not taken the Jeep back yet and I have not paid them anything yet.
1. Am I correct that they can make the radio work and only need to install the microphone?
2. If so. what is the procedure?
3. What should they charge me for this?
Thanks for your help.
Yeah they used the wrong kit. The kit is supposed to have the microphone, wire harness and hands free module. It isn't hard to install. Only thing you really need the dealer for is to change your sales code and to reset your vehicle configuration. $500 installed sounds about right. Like I said before it's really easy to install. You could save yourself some $ by doing it yourself.
