New To Jeep World with Questions!
My name is Salvador and I recently got me a 98 Wrangler Sport so I'm officially into the Jeep world, I have no experience with Jeeps in the past whatsoever but I guess that's about to change. But hey, let's be clear on the fact that I'm more than excited to start experimenting with my new toy!
I took a big step without asking anyone and off course I'm having a few issues, I bought some Maxxis Bighorn 33 12.50 for my 15 inch rims and added new flares that extended the original ones by 3.75 inches. Needless to say my Jeep looks really nice now.
However, the front tires are hitting the stabilizer bar when I turn fully and when I hit a bump they also scrape the inside area, nothing too bad but they hit anyway.
Was wondering what would be the best way to solve this, I was told that some "Spidertrax 1.25" Spacers" would solve the problem regarding the hitting of the stabilizer bar, but I've been told that that's not a good idea since spacers/adapters compromise the Jeep's performance.
As for the tires hitting the inside area, I figured a 1" lift would do the trick. But my question is, would a lift kit do it or would I have to invest in shocks as well?
Another issue I'm having (again totally due to ignorance) is that my Jeep is a 4 cylinder, for obvious reasons my Jeep is having a hard time pulling these big 33's. Is there anything I can do to gain some extra power? Just in case it's a manual transmission.
Thanks in advance to everyone, looking forward to be able to pay the favor back!!!
