aftermarket steering tierod replacements
 
So I know nothing about jeep aftermarket...

Now that that's settled I am fixing up my younger brothers 2004 wrangler x while he is deployed in Afghanistan. The jeep is lifted roughly 6 inches with an aftermarket steering kit. I am trying to rebuild the front end and can't find the right tie rods. These are much larger than stock. Does anyone know what the popular aftermarket brands are? Btw shocks and coils for the lift are unmarked and silver in color if that helps

i think i have narrowed it down to either the jcr or the terra flex system. Ordered some moog tierods from my work (advance auto parts) today according to their part numbers so Ill find out soon hopefully if its correct.

go with Currie or a V8 ZJ tie-rod.

here is my brothers jeep im taking care of next to what i normally drive... my lowered tacoma on qa1 coilovers normally with slicks on all four corners.

He may have the stock ZJ tie rod set up. That quite a bit thicker than stock.

So I'm at a loss its not a Zj... and its not the jcr kit... here is what it looks like

I had the rugged ridge crossover steering on my jeep for 6 months. I can honestly say it was the worst addition I ever made. The design allows for the TRE that connects the two bars to move before the rest of the system moves giving a huge dead spot in the steering. If you want to do your brother a huge favor...put in a currie lync setup. The rugged ridge is dangerous and pure junk IMO. Get under the front and have someone turn the wheel back and forth and watch that tie rod end. You'll see all the components move except the tires which means bad steering.
