And so it begins.....

I've had my jeep a total of three days and spent a bunch of money on it. Yesterday I spent $165 at Quadratec and today I just bought custom license plates. They say I love (heart) Jeep. It's never gonna end, is it?

jp2611 03-28-2011 12:45 PM

No it never ends -----especially when you see what everyone else does on WF to their Jeep. Welcome to the addiction!!!!

I always have a tough choice, take the girl out on a date or buy my JK a gift..... I think we both know what ends up happening ;)

A lot of money....165?.....you're just getting started haha. If you are visiting the forum and stores like quadratec you are in trouble. It's the good sort of trouble though. My JK is my second jeep and I have had it for about 2.5 months and boy did I show how "it" never ends. I have a thread showing my before and afters haha.

Between my JK and my guns, I need more guns to get more money to get more Jeep mods to escape from getting more money, its a vicious circle I think crack is cheaper.:rofl::rofl:

I think this is all true. However, the rush or "high" is comparable on the right trial with the doors and top off!

fenrir 03-28-2011 03:09 PM

the quadretec wish list dosent help either...added mine up the other day and almost passed out when it totaled over 10k and thats with no lift, wheels, tires, or bumpers but ill be damned if i dont start buying stuff asap

My mods on my jeep will be the same as my past 5 or 6 vehicles.

1. Floor mats
2. Window deflectors

Yep, that's it.

Not sure in the end if I will pay more for the Jeep or the mods

Tell me about it. I'm starting to break stuff that's upgradeable lol

I got some steering wheel wobble. Some nice new ProSteer ball joints might be in my future

You might be surprised. I had three cars before my jeep, and never did anything but maintenance on them. No interest in "mods" whatsoever.

Now look at me. It's only cash on hand that stops me from going totally crazy--it's forcing me to take my time.

Once you order those floor mats from Quadratec, you're going to get their catalog. Once you start looking through that catalog, you'll start seeing stuff and saying, "That looks cool . . . ." They'll start small and manageable, but then your brain starts whirring.

I'll be interested to see if you're still feeling the same way around October 2012. ;)

Dont get me wrong Quadratec has alot of great stuff but shipping costs suck. Check out amazon.com's prices for your gear. Most items have free shipping. That means more $$ for mods.

05wrangler 03-28-2011 08:31 PM

i got the quadratec mag... and i thought that the economy would make me go broke

I buy from them often. If yoou just call in to place your order they normally will take care of shipping or one time I even got them to whipe all my sales tax.

chrisojk 03-28-2011 10:42 PM

Q-tec shipping costs to Australia really, really suck. A lot of the stuff on Amazon they won't ship over here.

Unfortunately, rather than put me off buying stuff, it just encourages me to buy more to get better value out of the shipping.

I wonder how much it would cost to get a shipping container over here.....

MTH 03-28-2011 11:34 PM

I always shop around, but I personally love the q-tec catalogs. If you're not getting them, you can put your info in on their website and they'll send them to you for free (don't know about international . . .). It's a great way to see a large selection of items, regardless of whether you ultimately buy from them or not.
