My Rock Lights

I finally got around to finishing up my rock lights. Here they are...

I had a pair of these for a while (just sitting for 6 months) then i bought a second pair. 55watts, they are MORE than bright enough.

I mounted 1 up front

1 on each side (please excuse the ugly rust)

http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/...t/DSCN0137.jpg

And 1 in the rear (harder to find a good spot, but i like where i mounted it, it illuminates nicely)

Then just ran all the wiring, and decided since i don't use my ash tray i wired them in there (just drilled out the back of the ash tray... careful its hard, but fragile, trust me i shattered mine and epoxied it back together :banghead:)

this is a crappy photo of what they look like on... they are WAY bright! I am very happy with them.

Rogerg 04-03-2011 09:55 PM

Those might make killer back-up lights also.

How did you wire that did you use a relay? I just want some on the back but after seeing yours I like all of them! Nice

danieldlg_13 04-05-2011 03:12 PM

WOW!!! that is bright!!!

RBatman 04-05-2011 04:00 PM

I have some sitting around, same lights, but havent jumped into it yet. Can you post a drawing the wiring plan you used.

YJ Jeep Freak 04-05-2011 05:23 PM

I have those for backup lights and they work great. The only thing you have to worry about is if you have them on for a while to heat up and hit a puddle or water, I have had them crack or burn out the bulb. I like your set up. I have a back up camara attached under the jeep to see my clearance from the driver seat, but if I add lights they would work better at night. :wavey:

I used 2 relays and stashed them behind the glovebox, ran a fused wire through the firewall to the battery.

yeah pretty easy, i had a creeper which helped with zipping around underneath. Maybe took a few hours.

Thats What I got mine for, I took one and my buddy took the other, they are more than enough light, plus when some one is getting to close just turn it on.

VA91YJ 04-14-2011 09:29 AM

Thats a slick setup... I was going to buy some of the northern tool 10 dollar lights, but they are nearly as bright as those.

Makes night wheeling more fun!

Rawkon 04-18-2011 09:45 PM

i ran the same one, very nice setup for cheap! good job on the install. becareful around water or snow and running those lights. i cracked all the lenses pretty quick...lol

Mahoo 04-19-2011 03:39 AM

those look freaking sweet!!! They must really come in handy. I will have to do something similar, not because I rock crawl but because I am always dropping stuff when I exit the Jeep. ha ha ha

You should see the size of my phone case! Haha had to get the biggest one because of this reason haha

Do you find that the driving lights spread the light out enough to illuminate most of the underside of the Jeep? Or do you end up with four bright spots under the lights? From the pics it looks great but sometimes the camera can do some funny things.

I have seen KRAMMIT's lights in person. I thought the same thing, but that picture really is a true photo of what they look like.

Yup, No spots.... just good even spread of light It is everything i could have wanted.
In fact the light is so evenly spread that i was able to use them to install my air tank for my OBA at 10:00pm while the power was out so no street lights.... I love em!
