Soft top questions (pics)

I found a gentleman on Craigslist selling a soft top, asking $150.

I go over to inspect it. For what it is it is in great shape. But what it is, I am not really sure.

My first question is: When I take off the hard top do I have to have anything between the metal of the windshield and the top, or does the top seal right to the windshield frame? (Photo 1 below)

Second question: My Wranglenater has two mounts thats come out of the frame right behind the front seats (photo 2 below) The top in question has two brackets (photo 3 below) that I believe bolt right into the mounts in photo 2. If that is the case which bracket goes to which mount?

If photo 3 were better it would show that the rear of the soft top is on the left of the photo. Also there is only a rear window with the soft top. If this top fit my Jeep how would I identify the top to be able to match windows to it?

I know these are a lot of questions to ask with not a lot of detail to the photos but I would really like to know if this top will match my 04 Wrangler. If there is a place where part numbers would be hidden I would love to know where to look.

Thank you,
Austen

I'll post pics of my top and factory hardware
For now go to besttops site I think they have a diagram

Those 4 points on your roll bar,two on each side is where the soft top hardware bars pin off too

Where your top meets the windshield frame your jeep should have a rubber seal and your soft top should have a long plastic header bar with two latches

I just got off the phone with Best Top, they told me I need to start from scratch and buy an entire kit with full hardware.

They told me about a couple of different sets.

You do not need to buy an entire kit! The frame in the pictures is a OEM top. Any 97-06 frame will fit. Get all the hardware you need with the top

- Door surounds with knobs
- Tailgate bar attached to the bottom of the rear window
- Tailgate bar clips to the left/right of the gate opening

My first question is: When I take off the hard top do I have to have anything between the metal of the windshield and the top, or does the top seal right to the windshield frame? (Photo 1 below)

**The rubber seal stays on top of the windshield

Second question: My Wranglenater has two mounts thats come out of the frame right behind the front seats (photo 2 below) The top in question has two brackets (photo 3 below) that I believe bolt right into the mounts in photo 2. If that is the case which bracket goes to which mount?

** You jeep has the roll bar mounts so it was a softtop or dual top model

If photo 3 were better it would show that the rear of the soft top is on the left of the photo. Also there is only a rear window with the soft top. If this top fit my Jeep how would I identify the top to be able to match windows to it?

** You can purchase side windows (ebay) The will cost 60-100 for both. First you need to determine the year of the top. The side window zipper orientation, colors and patterns changed 97-02, 03-06. 97-02 tops have the female zipper slider attached to the top on the passenger side. 03-06 tops have the slider on the the driver side
