FS/FT (possibly) 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Upcountry Limited for Wrangler (or ?)
I have thought about this for a long time. I've always wanted a Wrangler, but I grew to love this GC so much, especially after fixing all the major WJ issues, I have just held onto her for 2 years through school. Now I am CONSIDERING a Wrangler (or something else, try me) again simply because my wife now has a very nice 4-door vehicle so I don't "need" a 4 door. .I won't trade for junk for sure.
I'll just start listing specs first and then things I've added/done. I'm sure I'll miss some features or maintenance I've done. Lastly I'll list all issues.
2001 WJ Limited, original sticker over 40k, 151k miles, so loaded with:
Upcountry Suspension Package (1" lift w/ different coils and springs, skid plates, and front chrome tow hooks)
Quadra-Drive system (full time AWD, this is one feature that has kept the Jeep with me, I LOVE it)
17" chrome Enkei 5-spokes (factories)
AM/FM/Cass/CD in Dash infinity system PLUS 10 disc cd changer
Black leather Seats (both all power and heated, not sure if heat works)
Dual Climate Control (see below!)
and basically any other options you can think of.
Things I have done:
Climate Control Blend doors and recirc door FIX - I did the dual fix, so yes, BOTH sides still work, still true dual climate control.
Brake FIX - Upgraded to the 03 plus calipers and put new rotors on so it won't constantly chew up brake discs anymore.
4 basically brand new Hankook A/Ts (still have stubblies) Yes they were expensive, yes you have to watch the air in them. Got 255/65s over the stock size since she has upcountry and it looks GREAT, and no rub.
Did tranny service, regular oil changes (just changed oil - Mobil 1 High Mileage Synthetic with Mopar oil filter).
Replaced the heater core and blower motor.
New driver mirror - the autodimming stuff went stupid in factory so I replaced it.
Replaced rotors rear as well.
New Turbo muffler a couple of months ago.
and other stuff I know I'm forgetting.
The "bad" (yes, some of it is trivial to most, but I am being honest as I expect anyone interested to be with me).
Cruise control light comes on but no one is home.
Dent in tailgate (hardly noticeable).
Rear hatch has to be manually opened from inside sometimes (just haven't got around to this yet)
Sometimes hard 1-2 shift - has had this since I got it 2.5 years ago, has not worsened, figured it was normal but wanted to post anyways.
One vent under pass. side lets old cold air sometimes when heat is one. Was so un-bothersome to me I just covered it last winter and this one and no one noticed. It really doesn't matter enough for me to get fixed.
Wheels - Through the winter they have been losing air, lessens GREATLY when heat returns. I do not know if it is valve stems or 5the wheels themselves maybe needed polished as they've done it since the new Hankook ATs were installed.
Little smell through HVAC system. Friend says there's a reservoir I need to clean, will do this shortly.
Few little paint marks as you'd expect on a vehicle of this age.
I think that is it. As you can see I've fixed most of the major WJ problems already.

I am really looking for a nice, late model Wrangler, BUT if you have something that might interest me, say, an AWD car for winter, 25+ mpg or sometime else I MIGHT consider it.
Hey, for the 30 seconds it takes you to post it, and 30 seconds for me to read it, it'll be worth it for both of us to try!
Oh, any vehicle needs to be auto too so my wife can drive it easily even stoplight to stoplight in Lexington.
