Help with a co-worker!

She wants to get an H2! I don't know what to tell her! Every time she talks about it, all I can do is yell "NOOO!" I need help to convince her otherwise!

vekrause 04-06-2011 12:43 PM

Take her for a ride in the Jeep, minus the doors and top...

^^^^^ and tell her to try this with a Hummer

There are only 2 Hummers worth getting the H1 and the one you get from a gf :-)

let her get the hummer, like that you remain the only cool jeep guy at work. :whistling:

...you could always convince her to get a 2011 sahara with a matching hard top, they look damn close lol

Ask someone for their gas receipt when they top off their H2 gas tank and show it to her.

BADBOY-RUBICON 04-06-2011 01:20 PM

She's probably just a 'Mall Crawler'....might as well buy a Hummer....

Went through Tank Trap at Disney, OK once with a hummer. It blew two tires and set off the side air bags. The JKs and TJs had no problems of course

I wouldn't mind having an H3 Alpha

arrowhead 04-06-2011 07:38 PM

If that is what she wants I don't see anything wrong with it. It's her that will be driving it. As far as gas mileage I bet it will do about as good as a jeep.

Hilldweller 04-07-2011 04:27 AM

I went and test drove an Alpha yesterday afternoon.
That 5.3L V8 is pretty sweet; the trans actually knows what to do with it all too. Giddy-up.

But you can't see out of the frickin' windows. And it has IFS.
Sure would pull my trailer though.

Of course, Authorized Military Personnel drive HUMVEE's, not Hummers. The stuff called Hummers by GM bear no relationship to the former, which is an outstanding vehicle. It really replaced the M37 and 1-1/2 ton trucks the military used, not the Jeep. There was no substitute for the Jeep.

Tell her to get a PT Cruiser, I LOVE mine

I would, but...she wants it for the 4 wheel drive... I told her that if she doesn't want a jeep to get a subaru...

she wants the 4 wheel drive because her and her husband just built a house in the mountains, and during the winter those roads don't get plowed... so, I told her to go ahead and get the hummer, and I'll hold my breath and wait for her to call me when she gets stuck. ;)

fkuszaj 04-07-2011 10:20 AM

Lol i was jk about the PT. I love my jeep and i agree with the guy that said giver a topless doorless ride on a nice spring day. she'll be sold

My son had a YJ & rolled it.....Now he drives a PT.
He has Jeep envoy of my JK.

How about the fact the Hummer is out of business? Used ones are cheap but good luck with any type of warranty work.

armygreen 03-07-2012 11:52 PM

i think hummers look good,
from a functional standpoint i have no knowledge of them except everyone here seems to hate them mostly for lack of function/capability i am guessing?

but one thing i found critical to not own any model of hummer, or a toyota fj, is lack of being able to see what i'm backing into / over top of;
check how horrible the view is trying to look back there from the driver's seat, if you didn't have a backup cam you may as well just put a blindfold on and punch the gas pedal, and wait for a crunch, crash, or blood-curdling scream.
