removing fiberglass from steel
 
I'm interested in purchasing cj3a at a real low price. The question I have is that the previous owner had wrapped the entire body in a real thin layer of fiberglass. All of the original body is there just coated with a about a 1/8 inch layer. What would be the best way to remove it? It does have some minor rust spots that require some refabing but I would like to bring it back to original and remove the fiberglass. Just curious of any faster tricks other than slowly sanding and grinding everything.

due to either the time and/or money involved in removing someone elses shitty topcoat, i wouldnt take that if it was free.
if you really want to remove it, have it sandblasted.
i am guessing if you coat it in aircraft stripper and leave it on longer than normal or maybe apply more than once, it will dissolve the gelcoat and soften the fiberglass.
