Boat sides??? on my LCG TJ

I'm looking into doing boatsides on my TJ and was wondering if anyone has instructions on how do build some. I'm looking to start bout an inch or so lower than the bottom of the door and continue to th bottom of the frame. My rock sliders are getting rusty and would like to clean it up a bit and add ground clearance to my LCG TJ. any help would be great... I'm waiting to cut until I know all about how to do it, I'd like to do a bolt on install if possible.
Thanks,
Dan

Haven't seen any like that yet most like evomfg.com are around 3" into the body and bolt to the body mounts. This takes away the sheet metal that typically gets mangled. Your design stated actually adds more even using 1/4" steel its still bolted to the thin body that you don't want taking a beating. Your always better off (when its possible) getting stuff up out of the way of being hit rather then adding more and beefing it up.

Take a look at the evomfg.com boatside bombers and you'll see what I mean I have a set of these just didn't get that far on mine yet

I've seen the evomfg.com boat sides they look nice but not really what I'm looking for.

Plus very pricey:(

i was there when mel was building the boat sides for ali's TJ , very cool and thought out. they are heavy as hell and it took em along time to get em worked out. lots of work to get those put on

the big issue with what you want going from body to frame is how much the body moves on the chassis. if you want to just get it close your actually loosing ground clearence.

alot of XJ guys do it but they are unibody
