A nice easy Sunday project...

Ok, So my sideview mirrors had seen better days. I was never really happy with the look of the TJ side views anyway, and now they were drooping and loosing paint fast. Plus, whenever I take my doors off, I loose my sideviews. Not good.

I ordered some basic utilitarian mirrors and they were delivered last week. I like these new mirrors a lot. They just look more "Jeep" to my eye, and they mount on the windshield hinge.

Here are some before snaps:

Now, What should I do about these holes?

Anyone need some old fixer-upper mirrors?

What do you think I should do about the old mounting holes in the hinge? Are there any good tricks for that? It seems like asking for rust to leave them open, and of course it doesn't look very good.

Regards, Canis

To each their own, it looks great :thumb: but I personally love my TJ mirrors. But they're in the same shape as yours... Guess I need to fix 'em up or order new ones haha. Nice mod though!

**EDIT**
Just noticed you're in KY, sweet! I love seeing other people from KY on here. Now if I could go wheeling or at least meet up with some people...

I found that they slipped a bit at first, probably because I was afraid to really crank on the tightening nuts. I bought some 5/16" star washers for $.47 and put them in the bracket, and now they stay put 100%.

mine were like that. i buzzed them down, masked the mirror, and spray painted a few coats of black. we're through the first winter and they're lookin perfect still
