Newbie from N.C./ Whats the best lift?

Hi! I'm a newbie from NC with an '06 TJ Wrangler. I drive a lot, live in the boonies. This is my toy and everyday vehicle. I am curious what is the best lift to install to achieve a "beefed up" look yet still slightly maintain my MPG's for commute and minimize the wear and tear. Thinking of putting 33's under it.:punk: Any recommendations?

Welcome to the Forum

You could go up to 31" tires now without having to lift it. A good rule of thumb is that anything up makes mpgs go down. Check out the lift sticky in the TJ section of the forum for some great info on the different lifts available, reviews on installation and performance.

Welcome. Your MPGs will suffer with bigger heavier tires. I ran 32s the last 2 years and dropped to 16 city. I just went to 33s and actually increased to almost 17. A lot has to do with the tread pattern. Big lugs on mud terrains are heavier and drop the MPGs. I changed to a less aggressive pattern (still offroad lug but not as heavy). Got to admit that I enjoy the smoother ride also.
