2" lift

I have read through some threads that suggest not using a 2" body lift due to various complications. If i were to use a 2" coil spacer lift would i encounter similar complications on my 97' TJ?

No.

Awesome. Would you recommend steering stabilizers also or would that be overkill?

nick50471 04-13-2011 12:11 PM

I would not but that is just me.

Thanks for the help bud. How much of a lift do you have on your jeep in the pic? Looks nice man

Josh I put a 2" spacer in my TJ ,I have not had any complications. As long as the original damper is good I wouldn't replace. If you are itching for an upgrade on the stabilizer its so cheap you might as well. Where at the beach are you?

Sweet thanks man. Im in wilmington, i drive out on Carolina Beach alot. Do you know this area?

Doug Ingram 04-14-2011 08:26 PM

you already have a steering stabilizer on the front end...can't add another one...but if your shocks are due for replacing, do the stabilizer at the same time-it's nothing BUT a shock absorber so it's had the same lifespan!
2" budget boost won't affect anything-just get you 'up' a little more to clear a taller tire without affecting anything at all.

I ran a 2inch on mine and never had a problem. Just gave me better clearance for obstacles and bigger tires. But If the shocks are getting weak might as well do them while its all apart. Yoe have to undo them anyway. And might as well do the stabilizer if you are gonna go with larger tires. Cause if its at all weak you will really feel it then.

I just ran into the problem of getting a new stabilizer or not. As far as I've heard and thought, I'd have to agree and say that you should only get one if yours is weak. I was told the after market ones are no better than the stock one. As far as single steering stabilizers go.

Cool, so my budget has a little extra room now =). Thanks ya'll and would you take Mickey Thompson tires of the Goodyear MT/R's?

Josh_97-TJ 04-15-2011 01:35 PM
