5 Mile Pass, Utah 3/12/11

I just got these pictures in from my last trail ride. It was a blast!! First time out in over a year. The black TJ is mine of course, and the white one is my father. He sold his old CJ-5 a few years ago and has wanted a Jeep ever since. You can tell how much fun he had in the pictures haha!

These are on some mine trailings we found.

It was an awesome time! I have a couple vids too, I just need to figure out how to put them on youtube.

Looks awesome. So a jeep actually fell down that shaft??

DerekM 04-14-2011 11:05 AM

Yeah I read an article on it somewhere. I think someone died in the accident, but it was back in the 60's or 70's.

I did get the cute vids online!!

Pretty cool pics man. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

KRAMMIT 04-14-2011 12:11 PM

Dude! it kinda looks like rattlesnake, but its hard to tell. Those mine shafts are crazy out there! Pics look like you guys had a blast! I wanna go next time too!
In the 2nd Vid was that your exhaust leak ticking?

deathphoenix99 04-14-2011 12:20 PM

If that's the same Jeep that I just read about, it happened in 95 and no one died. Here's a thread about it.

Post #34 talks about it, but the whole thread is about it.

Well there you go then. I read about someone dying though. Maybe it was a different shaft. Meh its still cool to see.

deathphoenix99 04-14-2011 12:56 PM

It is definitely cool! I would love to go out that way if I ever get the chance I will.

Nice pics! Is that a Rampage soft top on the black tj, and if so, how quiet is that thing?

DerekM 05-06-2011 09:52 AM

It is a Rampage Frameless top. It's quieter than a 12 year old stock soft top, but not as quiet as my hard top.

bkolb83 05-06-2011 07:28 PM

So is it worth the money, in your opinion?

DerekM 05-07-2011 09:44 PM

Yeah i think it's definitely worth the money. It's versatile and easy to use. I can throw all the windows on for bad weather or if I take my son somewhere.
