Well I've searched around here for a bit to see if there was a forum already for this topic and saw none.
What's going on is that I have a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. When I bought it there was not a cigarette lighter in it. I've looked online to see if maybe the previous owner had just taken it out or what, but I'm not able to find the wires for it (from what I understand they should be under where the steering wheel is).
I was wondering if anyone knew how to install a new one and where to buy one, plus what color, size, etc the wires should look like, in the off chance I just missed them.

are you going to use it to light cigarettes or just for a power source?

here is mine. the wire with the paper on it is the wire to the cigarette lighter and one next to it also
I'm just using it for a power supply so I can have a gps in my jeep.

Also my jeep doesn't have all those vents. But I assume that it would still be in about he same place.

I just bought two seperate plugs from the auto parts store that had rubber caps. One is now sitting on the right side of the dash next to the speaker and the other is attached to the leg of my homemade center console. I ran wires from the plugs to the left driver door, then one main power wire directly to the battery with a fuse. You can't see them unless you know they are there and they have power all the time. Easy to do and easy to hid all the wiring.

my jeep has ac so that is why its mounted there but i bought one of those 3 way plugs and mounted it just to far right part of the picture (you can see it barely, its silver) i just cut the plug off the wire and hooked it into my fuse box. i use it for phones and psp and junk

Yea I installed a second one on the right side of my ac ducting because I prefer power whether the jeep is on or not. I also installled a small fuse block with 6 fuse holders on the ac ducting as well to power various things like a cb, power outlet, and an aux exterior light relay.
