warn bumper and winch

Im ordering a "Warn Rock Crawler Front Bumper"(part number: 12022.402) and a "Warn PowerPlant Dual Force HP 9500LB Winch"(part number: 92101.100) off of quadratec...

What other stuff do I need to make this all work. I cant seem to find the winch plate on quadratec.com

Any links to anything els I will need would be great, Thanks!

AzTJ 06-23-2007 10:33 PM

Mounting plate - http://www.quadratec.com/products/12114_02_07.htm

That should be all that you need.

dwdrums801 06-23-2007 11:00 PM

thanks for that last link

are the warn plates the ohly plates that work on other warn products?

AzTJ 06-23-2007 11:28 PM

the wanr plates are built to be used with thier winches only. There are a few companies out there that make plates that will fit most winches, but as for bumpers, I donno if the warn plate will work with anything else other than thiers.

KendallSwamper 06-23-2007 11:57 PM

I bought a warn mounting plate and place a 9000lbs super winch on it. Plus you can probably find everything you are looking for on ebay for a lot CHEAPER.

dwdrums801 06-24-2007 06:31 PM

does anyone know if the warn grill guard will work with the power plant winch? it looks like a close fit.

any one run this winch? how you like it?
thanks,
Billy

haha im a towel boy at a hotel lol $10 an hour

iv bein working over time and 40 hours a week for the last couple weeks just to get a bumper n a winch

dwdrums801 06-24-2007 07:14 PM

ok well narrowed my bumper selction down to the high rock bumper or the advanced framework bumper...anyone know if the built in winch plates for these will work with the warn power plant? im pretty sure I want the powerplant cause i like the concept of having OBA

1BLKJP 06-25-2007 12:25 AM

All you need to know is if your winch plate will accept a 10x4.5 winch mounting bolts. That's the pattern for the Warn's.

I gotta say though we had some experience with a Warn Powerplant last night and it performed less that acceptable in my mind. Damn thing sounded like one of those little compressors you get at Auto Zone. We were all making fun of the little thing because it pretty much ran constantly and drastically slowed down the time of the repair they were trying to make. We could've used hand tools in half the time. So personally I don't think it's worth 1300 bucks for it. IMO better off spending 900 on a 9000i and then 150 or so on a Co2 tank.

dwdrums801 06-25-2007 02:11 PM

when you say it ran the whole time....does that mea when the air switch was on or also when the winch part was being used?

AzTJ 06-25-2007 02:35 PM

I think he means the air pump was running the whole time and couldn't keep up with the usage.

1BLKJP 06-25-2007 03:22 PM

Yeah, what AZ said. They never had to pull cable on the winch, but that little compressor that is in that thing isn't worth it's weight in wet paper towels.

Just my opinion though.

dwdrums801 06-25-2007 05:46 PM

alright you guys changed my mind haha

I think im goin to go with a Advance framework bumper
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12026_101_07.htm

Whats a good reliable winch....im looking for one on the cheap side now so I can get the more expensive bumper

any problems with the wireless remotes on the winchs? or would ones with a wire be better?

Thanks

nicolas-eric 06-25-2007 05:49 PM

for what do you need a winch in long island...?

dwdrums801 06-25-2007 06:03 PM

AzTJ 06-25-2007 11:01 PM

1BLKJP 06-25-2007 11:37 PM

Sum beach that's the cheapest I've seen the ti ever. :D

That's a great winch you won't be disapointed.

dwdrums801 06-26-2007 08:55 PM

I was going for a cheaper one but my dads was picky about it and wanted me to get that one so he gave me the extra cash to get it....

wat kind of factory warrentee do the warns have?

osbornl1 06-26-2007 09:35 PM

not sure on factory warrenty but i got my winch from 4 wheel parts and they gave me lifetime warrrenty no questions asked type warrrenty for free because of the 8000lb being back ordered and i upgraded to a xd9000...i already used it on my controller with the 12' cord i cut it in half slamming my seat shut once and they replaced it and told me to throw my old one away they didnt even want it back. ask quadratec to see if they have something like that.

dwdrums801 06-26-2007 10:16 PM

dwdrums801 06-27-2007 07:57 PM

dwdrums801 07-14-2007 10:46 PM

I finally hooked up the winch to the new bumper and I just wanna check with you guys that if the controller is not connected that means its not taking any draw from the battery? I dont wanna wake up for work tomarrow and have a dead battery

thanks and pics will come soon

foxinthemudd 07-15-2007 08:45 AM

warn is usuallly pretty good about fixing stuff in my opinion, of course I deal with one of their promo people (a friend of my dad's) who is gonna get me set up on a ti for around $400 :D

I've never had a problem with a dead battery. My winch broke one time and I sent it to Warn and within 3 weeks, had the winch back. Never even paid for shipping. The warrenty was great!

debruins 07-15-2007 09:48 AM

for the bumbper, did you get just the bumper or all the add on hoops or what?

that looks like a really good setup, wish i had the $$!

dwdrums801 07-15-2007 11:46 AM

I got the one with the single hoop....I wanted the one woth the 2 hoops on the outside also but then ups wouldent take it cuase it was too big and I didt wanna pay another 150 to get it crated here
