I have a 94 high output and it says it right on the back under the 4.0L badge... so i would say if it doesnt say it, it isnt. ::shrugs::

i do beleive all 4.0 are high output, i think they changed something in the head to make it 4.0. it is the same block as the 4.2. id say yes it is ho

H.o.

4.0 from 92 and up are H.O. From 92 and lower they are just normal 4.0s

If I recall right, it's the 4.0L, fuel injected, engine that is the HO.

All 4.0 engines in Wranglers are H.O. since first introduced in the '91 model year. Prior to that, the engine was a 4.2 and did not have the H.O. designation.

H.O. was a designator given by Jeep to denote the difference between a 4.2 engine and a 4.0 engine... nothing more.
