Taken last spring, this 'road' (riverbed actually) is called Route Jamaica and it is the connection between northern Paktya Province and Logar Province and is a major route for insurgents bringing weapons from Pakistan to feed their fight in Logar and Kabul. None of these photos are classified or anything like that but I wanted to share how maneuver is a nightmare in eastern Afghanistan. As you can imagine, the ride is a but rough in a 30 ton vehicle with leaf springs but the 42" tires and 24+ inches of ground clearance keep you from getting hung up and high centered for the most part. The riverbed is around 8000 feet MSL and the mountain peaks range from 9500 to 16,000 feet. Enjoy!
Nice pics and thanks for sharing. Also Thank You for your service. :thumb:

No OPSEC violations. Read my OP; if I wanted to break OPSEC I would have posted pics of burning trucks and the head of a suicide bomber we had at our ECP. I just wanted to share, in light of the current political battle of ending our mission in Afganistan, what it is really like to maneuver in RC-East. Take care bud.
