New 2011 Sahara Unlimited Owner

Hi all!

I am a new Jeep owner. Have been wanting one since I was in High School. This is my first new car in over 18 years (been inheriting the wife's cars) and so I went with the dream.

Any tips for a new owner? Headed to dealer today to go through soft top installation instructions.

Any recommendations on good accessories and for that matter good accessory sites/stores? Planning on getting a bikini/spiderweb top of some sort and would like some lockable storage and perhaps a hard top lift/storage option but other than that I am interested in some good "must have" accories out there.

Thanks!

Welcome! If you have the stock softtop you might find that you dont really need a bikini top also since the 2010-2011 tops are so easy to use and are pretty versatile. I made the mistake of buying a bikini top before buying a stock softtop and I doubt I will ever use it.

I would for sure recommend a hardtop lift. I use the Racor lift and it works great. It is also priced pretty good at Amazon. Amazon.com: Racor PHL-1R Pro HeavyLift 4-by-4-Foot Cable-Lifted Storage Rack: Home Improvement

Wheels, tires, and suspension are all great mods.

Since I have only owned my 2011 for a few months I am still figuring out what the best mods are but if you read the posts on this site they will give you plenty of ideas.

I actually already have two of these in my garage. Do you actually put the hard top on the lift, or use some sort of clips to hang it underneath?

Thanks!

I tie wrapped pipe insulation to the bottom of the lift shelf and then set the lift shelf directly down on the top and then used two ratchet straps to secure the top to the shelf. It works great and even gives you storage for the front panels on top of the shelf. I have a tall garage so when it is hoisted all the way up like it is now it is really out of the way.

Quadratec.com is your friend for endless hours of drooling and dreaming.

Welcome to the cult.

Browse Quadratec for sure, but when it comes to buy time compare prices with other places. Amazon may not always be the cheapest but their customer service can't be beat.
