ok i need some advice, on my blue wrangler i have stainless textured side panels, i want to update my side steps to some tube side steps and im not sure if i should get textured stainless or textured black. Which? and are the smittybuilt tube sidesteps any good? and are they easy to inatall? thanks:hide:

Alot of people don't like the tube steps, but I agree they are within budget. if you just want steps you can pick up a set of used OEM for around 50 locally if you look or probably 75 shipped from someone. anyways, they are easy to install. go with black

Ah yes I am interested in finding quality side steps too. I have the factory plastic ones and keep slipping off of them. Any of them textured metal so I don't land on my ass again when it's raining?

see i had the factory ones on there when i got it but i didnt like the way they looked. to me they looked cheap and well.... cheap. but yea i am trying to find something between 150 and 250$ in side steps

yea lol I sold mine... I dont have any steps now, and im lifted on 33s. haha. I feel bad for people who are gettin in now. well if your willing to spend a little more Id look at a slider/step combo.

Rock Hard 4x4 Parts - Rocker Guard Sliders

just one example from a custom shop. there are many. you can check out others like poison spyder, rockmen. just look around.

If you dont want anything that looks cheap, then dont buy anything that says smittybilt on it. Chinese junk

I have the rampage side steps on my Unlimited. They are easy to install everything pre-drilled lined up perfectly. I've had them for 4 years and they still look like new (when clean).

Ditto black. Stainless is pretty until you scuff it against a bank/tree/bolder.
Then you got a scraped up bar. OK if you like it looking that way.

Do the same to a black one. Couple of minutes scuffing out the scratches/scuffs, spray can of flat/semi gloss back and you are nearly good as new again.

I've had the black Smittybilt ones for years now and they are great imo.
