Flowmaster 40, 44 or 50?

1 Attachment(s)
I'm going to be replacing my muffler on my 90 YJ. I want a nice deep throaty sound. Any suggestions on what I should go with? What is the difference between the Flowmaster 40, 44 and 50 other than price?

Thanks!

Ok, looks like I'm going to go with the Flowmaster 40 catback after listening to some clips on Youtube. Thanks for all the input people! WF is working out great for me ;)

i love the way my flowmaster 40 sounds on my TJ I6

I like my straight pipes too, but sadly they can't be used in all states as some require a safety inspection and no cat/muffler would fail them.

its going to sound a lot different on a 4.0 lol, not saying its going to be bad tho ive been looking into upgrading to a delta 44 from my 40 series, ive got a 50 series on my 5.7 camaro and it sounds sweet but dont think i would put one on the jeep

I went with a magna flow high flow cat and muffler. It sounds just like a deep v8 on a straight 6. Plus it will also help pull more carbon out of the engine.

I have a Flowmaster 40 for sale. It was installed on my dads jeep for about 60 miles. He's old and said it was too loud. Todd Wilson (501)208-3955

Getting the Flowmaster 40 installed today with custom pipes. Decided to go with the dual setup. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it  I'll post some pics when I can.

That's exactly what I did too only mine is on the 4cyl it still sounds awesome some people even think it a v8 haha but it's pretty deep and throughty

Do they still make the diamond plate series? When i got super 44's for my truck they had an option for diamond plate for the main body of the muffler. Doubt it would make a huge difference but you would think diamond plate could handle an impact a little better. plus they were black.

I am curious what those 40's sound like though on a 6. I had a dual setup on a 302 once, sounded amazing, but a straight 6 is a different animal.

This thread is over 2 years old and the OP only has 16 posts so he probably isn't around anymore to answer you.
