Flint Mich. says HI

:wavey: just bought a 93 YJ 4 banger and had to replace the tranny and weld a few frame areas. she's up and running good now. not bad for under a grand. bit rusty and rough but so am i. just a second driver not offroad. just the wife and i and we're getting older but still like to have fun vehicles. we have a '77MGB also.

Welcome to the forum! And in Flint...who needs to go offroad when you drive on them roads everyday......LOL

r goeckel 05-24-2011 01:05 PM

yup, here on road is off road. and off road maybe smoother.

deathphoenix99 05-24-2011 01:11 PM

I didn't know Flint still existed. Good to know there are living/breathing people still in Michigan.

^^^Not too many left, although Flint has been looking better in the past few years.

we're tough eastsiders! the news about flint is always worse than actuality. and it depends on where you live. the nice thing is great people, close to the north, not crowded. and we can be off road as soon as we leave our driveway!!!

Cool, I go to school at Kettering University, so I've been up there more than I like, LOL.

Hi from another Michigander : )
question: did you weld up your frame? or have someone else do it? I have a 93 Wrangler that needs welding on the frame.

i bought a frame kit off ebay for the rear arches and a friend did the welding after i did the prep work(removing parts and grinding surfaces clean), we had to do some trimming but it went on good. i also had a bit of a crack developing where the parking brake runs through the frame under the drivers door so i bought some flat stock (3/16") and he welded that also. it's not pretty but it's functional. it was a 2 day job.
