fog lights won't shut off

factory fog lights won't shut off unless I turn the turn signal on. Or push in on the lever. Any ideas? Just started.

Sounds like the multifunction switch is bad. My grandma's PT Cruiser did the same thing.

Malfunction switch def. I had the similar issue. Gave me an excuse to get an optima battery :-D

Mine did same. Replacement was about $55 from Autozone...takes about 30 minutes to swap out. Remember to switch the relay from the back of the old one to the new one!

Search on here for "replace turn signal" -- that should take you to some step-by-step directions. You'll just need to dig a bit.

I did mine about two weeks ago. It took me just shy of an hour, but I also cleaned all the pieces that are visible. It's not a hard job at all

Good luck!!

Oh... I forgot. You can turn your jeep off, then turn the turn signal left - that shuts the fog lights off when you leave the jeep.

did you get any water in them or your steerting column???

Just curious... if so, it could only be temporary until it dries out.

Ha! yea, that was my temporary fix. Just ended up pulling the fuse for now. Glad it's an easy fix. I'll do the search & try to get her replaced this week. Thanks for the help!

I don't even know how to turn mine on.

Easy parcheesey! $52 at Autozone. Toughest part was getting the damn plug out! then trying to figure out why my high beam indicator light was no longer working, finally to realize that it runs off the accessory fuse I pulled when I took the doors off.

I am pointing at the part I believe is worn down.

You can really see the part has been worn down.

I am really close to fixing this issue. I have found a way repair the existing switch but once I found the problem I had to put it back together so I could drive to class. I know this is not helpful yet but I think this can be repaired. I know the pictures are definitely helpful.

If this fix can be done it will not be the easiest solution. The part from the dealership cost $260 this is why I want to fix the existing switch. I want to keep my jeep nice and running another switch somewhere else would just bug me.
